One Year Ago - Lonely

Journal Entry: Sun Mar 4, 2007, 12:20 PM
  • Mood: Content
  • Watching: Desperate Housewives tonight(Guilty pleasure)
  • Playing: Tradewinds Legends, whenever I get a chance.
  • Eating: Plums.
I submitted "Self Righteously Lonely" exactly one year ago. It's odd, because it seems like yesterday, and yet quite a bit has happened since then.

A woman who turned into perhaps my closest friend other than my fiance, moved away. My fiance and I traveled to Tennessee to see her and her husband, a friend from high school. That led to the decision for James and I to move out of my parent's house and get our own place. Now, at the end of the month, we're moving again. I finished my student teaching and got a job, and believe me, that was a real hurdle. Also, I thought I was going to become a mother, and I feel like it's time.. but who knows?

I'm still lonely.. but things are getting better.

You're welcome, but it was deserved. It was very good, and very touching. I've never been good at writing "fixed," but I can still appreciate it.

Thanks again, Meg, for faving my latest sonnet. Fixed forms aren't as popular as they once were, but some of us still enjoy writing them, and it's great to find they still have an audience.

You're welcome. And I will. Thank -you- for the fav on my poem. As to your previous comment, I was indeed speaking of the Snow Queen in my post. It's a wonderful novel and I'm looking forward to reading the continuations.

I have also looked at some of your other work, particularly the ones concerning age and poetry. You tell them! *laughs* Some people think you can't write if you're young; others, apparently, may believe that slam poetry is reserved -for- the younger generation.. I think experience is experience and passion is passion, no matter what the age of the writer.

And I'd be more likely to see you in NC than in New Orleans, as my fiancé has family out there.. but you never know.

Sorry for the wait on my reply.. It's actually sort of a funny story. I had seen the image from your icon before, and my fiancé liked it. I clicked on your icon, noticed that you are a writer, and the title of "Sir Gripes a Lot" intrigued me, so I read it. I plan on going back to your page when I have some more free time. Until then. :)

Wow...thank you for the very introspective commentary concerning "Sir Gripes A lot". Weird name for a poem, I know, but your comment made my day. How did you stumble across it, if I may ask?
